Depicting the team Bill Shankly built to gain Liverpool promotion from the old second division in 1961-62 after languishing there for 8 years. When Shankly arrived at Anfield, from Huddersfield, it’s no exaggeration to say the club and its facilities were a shambles. But alongside his “Boot Room” staff of Bob Paisley, Joe Fagin & Reuben Bennett, things improved so much that, by the end of the 1963-64 season Liverpool became League Champions for the sixth time. Shankly led Liverpool to 2 further Championships, won 2 FA Cups and 1 UEFA Cup before retiring after the 1974 FA Cup final. He died 7 years later at the tragically young age of 68.
