HOWARD'S WAY

Between 1984 and 1987 Everton, under manager Howard Kendall, won the FA Cup, two League Championships, 3 FA Charity Shields and the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup. However, due to a ban on English clubs playing in the European Cup as a result of the 1985 Heysel disaster, the club were unable to take on football’s elite in Europe’s premier club competition. This painting depicts the Everton team that in May 1985 beat Rapid Vienna 3 : 1 in Rotterdam. Andy Gray, Trevor Steven and Kevin Sheedy scored the goals that secured the club’s only European trophy.

Prints available in sizes 1000 x 700mm and 594 x 420mm.
